Breathe Youth
You are a unique Individual Being with a body, mind, and Soul that is manifested here in this earthly life. Whether you are a child or an adult, your Soul experiences this material, physical life through your body, senses, and mind. As such, it is your opportunity to Love and care for your body, to be aware of your thinking, and to honor and exercise your Spiritual awareness.

Consider the following exercise for adults and children to help energize the body, clear the thinking and harmonize the emotions by breathing in the Light of Universal Life Energy (called Chi/Qi or Prana in other practices). It is good for all ages, even toddlers that can sit on your lap as you practice. Air contains oxygen, which is full of Universal Life Energy. When you breathe oxygen the Life Force goes into your lungs, blood stream, and into each cell to stimulate, energize and harmonize them. Deep breathing is vital for circulation of the lymphatic system which releases toxins from the body! Oxygen also helps convert your food into energy, release physical and mental tension, and promote overall well-being. With this exercise you get the double energies of oxygen and Universal Life Energy!

Consider practicing this exercise for about 5 minutes once a day for the health benefits. As you adjust to the practice you can increase the time or frequency per day. You may notice that if you practice with a youngster on your lap your two breathing rates gradually synergize. Listen to your Inner Voice for guidance as to which position is best for you and the youngster you may be practicing with.

Breath of Light
By PSLB
Sit upright in a comfortable chair with the child beside you. Alternate positions are: on a mat with legs crossed and youngster on your lap, or laying flat on your back with legs slightly apart, arms by your side with palms facing up and youngster beside you. Place your hands palms up on your thighs if you are sitting, close your eyes and gradually begin to relax your body from toes to head. Relax and release your thoughts and gently let your mind be Silent of thoughts other than your task at hand. Begin to take slow, deep, rhythmic breaths, filling the lungs slowly, inhaling and exhaling for equal lengths of time. Speak softy, sharing the instructions and visualization with the youngster if they are with you. Fill your lungs, expanding your chest. Visualize your breath as being Light, which is an expression of Universal Life Energy that stimulates, energizes and harmonizes everything it flows into. With a deep inhale have the air and Light travel from your lungs to your feet and ankles circling and bathing them with warm, harmonizing energy in every muscle, bone and cell. With the exhale relax even more and let any tension and negative flow out of the feet.
On another deep inhale direct the Breath of Light into the lower legs, and gradually move the Light around the knees and thighs. You may feel a tingle as you become more sensitive to the flow of the Breath of Light, this is a normal effect of the stimulation in the nerves and cells. Continue moving the Light up to the chest, back, and shoulders, then move it to the arms and elbows, gradually directing it to the neck and head. Bathe the jaw, cheeks and eyes with the Light, and feel the energy filling each area. End with the Light of Universal Life Energy filling the entire head and brain. Gently return to normal breathing. Wiggle your fingers and  toes, and slowly open your eyes.

The Light of Universal Life Energy is in each breath and this Life Force helps stimulate, harmonize, heal and balance every part of us, including helping to develop a clear, discriminating mind and calm, peaceful emotions.
